About three months ago I started producing the 3D assets for my game using Blender. I’m almost done and I have more than 300 assets ready, including plants, structures, furniture and all kinds of small objects to make the environment align with the story.
I downloaded a few models from 3D asset libraries (Turbosquid and Unity Asset Store). None of them were instantly perfect. I needed to edit the topology and UVs and sometimes convert the file format before I was able to open the item in Blender. Not sure if I saved any time by doing this since besides additional edits I first needed to find suitable objects.
Some of the assets need fixing and the textures will be adjusted before the final version of the game. I’m also sure that during development I’ll want to create more assets to enhance the atmosphere and the storytelling.
